Characterised by its rigid geometric style and ‘blocky’ - for want of a better word - appearance, Brutalist architecture rose from the post-war reconstruction of the United Kingdom and was implemented into the design of social housing projects, universities and car parks. However, it wasn’t confined to just the UK, spreading across all corners of the world including Hong Kong - the birthplace of Maven. The style was recognised as being honest and simple, providing an accessible gateway for people of all backgrounds.

2022 Red Dot Award
The Brut. Watch is a winner of a 2022 Red Dot Award for Design.
We have been given a design award by the Red Dot Awards - an international design competition for those in the field of design - for its Brut watch series inspired by the eccentricities of Brutalist architecture and its symbology as an art form.
Among all of this year's entrants, after undergoing a rigorous adjudication process by international experts in the field, we were in the 9% of brands and companies selected to receive the award.
